Deacons
Deacons serve to support our members through prayer and compassion. The Deacons also serve the strangers who show up to our church with needs. Deacons are ordained and installed in the church just as pastors and elders are. Deacons are Nominated with consent and then elected by the members of the church annually.

In the PC(USA) Book of Order the ministry of deacon as defined by Scripture is defined as:
“One of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress. Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, sincere compassion, and sound judgment should be chosen for this ministry.” (PCUSA Book of Order, G-2.0201)

PPC prays for its members, those who aren’t members, friends, strangers, our community, the world, anyone. We are grateful that God has called us into the ministry of prayer. pathways grief support group
Folks gather to receive support for grief and trauma on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in PPC’s Trinity Center at 10AM. You do not need to be a PPC member or worshiper to join.
